President’s Letter October 2026

✨ October 2026 Edition ✨
🍂 “In this world of change, nothing which comes stays, and nothing which goes is lost.”

This thought comes to mind as we reflect on some recent transitions across our Board of Directors.

Our Treasurer, Nick Curott, has found that increasing personal and professional commitments require him to step down from his elected role (nothing which comes stays). On behalf of the entire Board and membership, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to Nick for his tireless service, financial stewardship, and dedication to the IBC! 👏

During his tenure, Nick built a comprehensive financial reporting and budgeting blueprint that will guide our club well into the future (nothing which goes is lost). In addition, his guidance in transitioning our organization to 501(c)(3) status was instrumental.

In accordance with our bylaws, the Board has appointed Nan Turner to fill the remainder of Nick’s term and take the helm as Treasurer. 🤝 The great news: Nick is actively partnering with Nan to ensure a seamless transition into the role. Please join us in thanking Nick and giving Nan a warm welcome! 🎉

🌟 Meet Your 2026 Board Nominees
We have three open Board seats and three outstanding candidates. In case you missed their initial introductions:

🏀 Jay Stapp
Jay rejoined the bridge world in the fall of 2024 through our beginner’s class after playing socially about 35 years ago. A former Belmont basketball player, Jay earned his JD from Vanderbilt Law School and spent 42 years practicing corporate law before retiring. He and his wife, Lori, live in Zionsville and are the proud parents of three and grandparents of three. Jay loves the IBC for its blend of warm social energy and spirited competition!

📚 Nan Turner
Nan has been part of the IBC family since taking lessons with Janie in 2011. A Purdue graduate, she worked as a librarian before earning her MBA from UT Austin. Her career spans banking across California and Texas, followed by 26 years as a retirement plan compliance consultant in Indiana. Her daughter, son-in-law, and granddog call Noblesville home. When she’s away from the tables, you’ll find Nan crafting while powering through ~20 audiobooks a month! 🎧🎨

🎓 Pam Rhine
Pam walked through the IBC doors 20 years ago as a complete novice—and was hooked from day one! She has served on our Board twice before, spearheaded the major fundraising campaign for our clubhouse renovation, and co-founded the Indiana Bridge Foundation in 2018 alongside Joyce Pepple and Jim Rowen. Pam holds both a BS in Medical Technology and a JD from Indiana University (Go Hoosiers!). She is a wife, mom of 2, grandma of 8, great-grandma of 2, and proud dog mom of 2! 🐾
💡 The Privilege of Choice:

While bylaws permit floor nominations, the Board wholeheartedly endorses these three dedicated members who are ready to invest their time and talents into IBC’s future.
