Indianapolis Bridge Center offers classes and special games for beginning bridge players are players returning to bridge. If you have any questions about bridge classes or games, please call the Bridge Center at (317) 845-5887 and ask for Sharon, the club manager.

New Bridge Players: We frequently have classes for beginner player. Usually winter, summer, and fall.

Returning to Bridge:

If you used to play bridge but haven’t in many years, we recommend that you take a beginner class to learn new bidding techniques. See the list of games below that will help ease returning players back into playing regularly.

Chat Games for Beginning and Returning Players:

When you play in chat games, you can ask the director questions about bidding and playing the hand.  And, you don’t need a partner to play in these games. If you are a new player, you will need to take a beginner class before playing in these games. Cost $12 for Members and $15 for Non-Members. Occasionally, there are extra fees for special games.

  • Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m. – limited to players with 0-200 masterpoints
  • Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. – limited to players with 0-100 masterpoints
  • Thursdays at 9:30 a.m. – limited to players with 0-200 masterpoints
  • Saturdays at 10 a.m.Practice Play for experienced beginners and intermediate players
  • Sundays at 2:00 p.m. limited to players with 0-50 masterpoints. All of the Chat games offer you a chance to earn ACBL masterpoints. 

Convention Card for beginners:

ACBL has a “Fat Free” Convention Card already filled out. You need to have a completed card (that matches your partner’s card) when playing games at the Indianapolis bridge Center. Click here for the ACBL Fat Free Convention Card.

What are Masterpoints:

Masterpoints are the exclusive currency of the American Contract Bridge League (ACBL) as the measure of achievement in duplicate bridge competition. Masterpoints are awarded in six “color” categories. The ACBL has 16 player ranks that require a specific number and color of masterpoints.
