The Helen Shanbrom Ace of Clubs race is how many masterpoints you have won playing in a club. There are people designated as Ace of Clubs winners based on how many masterpoints they had at the start of the year (0-5, 0-20, 0-50, etc.). I think there are winners at the unit (CIBA), maybe district, and nationally (listed in the magazine). So the person in CIBA who, among players in CIBA who started the year with less than 5 points, who wins the most masterpoints from Club games, will be the CIBA 0-5 Ace of Clubs. The person, who started the year with less than 5 points and wins the most masterpoints in Club games in the country, will be the National 0-5 Ace of Clubs. Same for all the other brackets (0-20, 0-50, etc.).
The Mini-McKenney race is very much the same except is for master points won at clubs AND won at tournaments. On-line has a separate race so those points are not included.
Our club periodically posts standings of all the races, both Ace of Clubs and Mini-Mckenney, posted on the end of the room divider towards the back of the big room, to the right of the soda pop vending machine.
