2026 Mentor Program

Starting Tuesday, September 8 at 11AM

The mentor program is back! Here are some of the key points:

  • Mentees must be non-life masters with at least 50 masterpoints and no more than 750 masterpoints.
  • Mentors must be Life Masters.
  • Mentors and Mentees will play at least 6 games together between September 8 and November 21
  • Mentors will receive 6 free play cards for use when the Mentor and Mentee play together
    • 3 free play cards can be used for ANY Open game
    • 3 free play cards can only be used for Tuesday, Thursday, or Saturday Open games
    • Otherwise, Mentors will pay the full entry fee

Guidelines:

  • Mentors & Mentees must be IBC paid members
  • Mentees must have taken at least one bridge class before
  • The goal is for Mentees to sharpen their skills
  • Mentors are not teaching new conventions. They will play at the Mentees level with the conventions the Mentee knows.
  • When needed the Mentor and Mentee will review troublesome hands after the game.

Mentees can get their own Mentors and Mentors can get their own Mentees. If you get your own Mentor/Mentee, please sign up at the Bridge Center. The signup sheet is on the board in the hallway. Otherwise, Mentors and Mentees will be assigned to each other at the Opening Party.

Please put your name on the appropriate list. If you already know who you’re pairing with, please put an arrow between your names. Just because a Mentor is next to a Mentee name doesn’t necessarily mean they are matched up. Sharon and Matt will determine pairings for un-ARROWED partnerships.

As always, the *Zero Tolerance Policy* is in effect during games. This is a learning experience for Mentees so let’s be nice to ALL players, please.

We will celebrate the Program with an Opening Party, September 8 and a Closing Party, November 21!

 Thank you

PS – Also, if you are an established partnership, we will not allow repeat-pairings for the Mentor Program.
